DutchNews nominee for Expat Service Provider of the Year 2010

DutchNews has been selected as one of five finalists in the category Expat Service Provider of the Year 2010. The winner will be decided through a combination of public voting through the official awards website at www.expatoftheyear.nl and jury assessment. We invite you to revisit the website between Monday, February 8 and Sunday, March 14 to vote for the finalist of your choice.

On Tuesday, March 23 the awards will be presented during the official awards ceremony at Nyenrode Business University.

The website is an initiative of journalists Robin Pascoe and Abi Daruvalla and was made by Stammeshaus.com using Movable Type.

All the content os the website is managed through Movable Type Blogs. The News Blog, for example, creates not only a news item, but does this in three formats: as a regular web-page, as a mobile web-page and as a print-formatted web-page. The news items are in addition published in several overview pages, for the Homepage, in monthly archives, for the mobile Homepage and archive pages and in a RSS feed; all in one click. The other content of the website is published in a similar way.

Thanks to the blogging features, website visitors can place comments with individual entries, where this is allowed by the content managers.

Through a clever php-includes setup, several other items can be added to the web-pages, such as the advertisements that occur on several places, recent published entries from other blogs, or category driven menu's. Note that the advertisement section itsself is completely MT-Blog driven.
